We also found out some really valuable information at his doctor appointment. To make a long story short, we found out he's low in citrates, which break down the crystallization of minerals, so that is what causes all the kidney stones! We've got a course of treatment figured out so hopefully we should be good to go. It was a huge burden lifted to finally know what has been causing him all this pain. And a great birthday gift as well!

Mitch and I aren't cake fans, so we usually do different birthday desserts. Last year we did birthday lemon bars--delicious! I think this year I will make Mitch some birthday brownies, too :)

Jeff doesn't like cake either! I'm ok with it, but if there are other desserts I'll probably choose those first. So we pretty much never do birthday cake. I had to convince him it was really important that he have at least one bite of our cake at our wedding haha (which was the best cake I've ever personally tasted so if he didn't like THAT one then all hope is lost). Might try lemon bars in the future! Sounds delicious.
DeleteOur wedding cake was the most delicious cake I had ever had too! Even the frozen part a year later! But that's as far as our cake indulgence goes :) Lemon bars hold the candles well, too!
